POSITION PURPOSE
This position is responsible for managing and developing Bank customer account relationships for borrowers. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining banking relationships by forming in person evaluation of the customer and assessing financial information and compatibility of banking needs within the Bank’s policies and philosophies.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Four-year degree in business, economics, or finance or comparable banking degree or comparable years of similar work experience.
- Two or more years of lending or comparable work experience preferred.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with computer operating systems. MS Office software experience.
- Experience with bank or financial analysis software preferred.
- Excellent sales skills.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy preferred.
- Strong, well-developed communication, customer service and interpersonal skills in order to maximize business contacts and develop a working relationship with existing and potential customers.
- High level of analytical skills to conduct loan analysis and monitor loan’s progress in consideration of the market trends, economic conditions and other pertinent factors.
- Registration under the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan; approves loans within established lending guidelines.
- Negotiate credit items including costs, repayment methods, and collateral requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews of loan customers in order to monitor credit quality and total outstanding loan balances.
- Monitor loan repayment activity on a regular basis and take necessary action to collect past due accounts. Collect technical exceptions, obtain financial statements and borrowing base if required.
- Manages loan portfolio, to include on-going communication and follow-up with customers.
- Interviews prospective applicants and requests required information related to loan or credit applications; corresponds or re-interviews applicants to resolve questions regarding application information; assures proper loan information is collected to maintain acceptable credit standards and conform to bank policy.
- Coordinates processing of approved loans; ensures loans are processed according to agreements, customer needs, and Bank lending policies; obtains sufficient information and/or documentation from customers; solves problems relative to processing and servicing of loans within assigned portfolio.
- Develops new loan business by developing relationships with prospective customers, identifying needs, recommending solutions, and closing sales.
- Follows regulatory requirements by protecting information for privacy and confidentiality, displaying discretion in discussing customer information, obtaining proper information and paperwork to complete transactions, and following bank policies and regulations.
- Call on potential and/or existing customers and introduce customers to other departments or products when a service can be rendered.
- Keep current on regulations and legislation affecting lending.
