Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Compile programs to support inspection undertakings.

• Study and read blueprints, models, drawings, sketches, descriptions, and visualized products to decide on the materials/machines needed to make components.

• Set up and run machine tools such as CMMI's, lathes, milling machines, EDMs, pantograph, and grinders to fabricate parts and verify conformance of parts to specifications.

• Develop tools where no design is accessible to decide on metal flow in dies, pick tolerances and execute complex developmental work.

• Measure, mark, and scribes metal stock for machining.

• Examine dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures and suggest design modifications regarding construction and function of parts.

• Capability to heat treat tools and machined parts.

• Comprehend how an injection mold comes apart, goes together, and operates.

• Clean molds/parts using applicable cleaning materials within the department.

• Discern and replace/repair components on the mold that are defective.

• Fit up cores, cavities, ejector pins, and moving parts within a .0005" clearance.

• Work to remarkably close tolerances, often within .0001."

• Check dimensions, alignments, and clearances of parts and tooling.

• Attach wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components.

• Efficiently document and log repairs and information about appointed jobs.

• Contact external vendors for quotes on spare parts and stock upon arrival.

• Keep applicable records around vendors, molds, spare parts, and tooling as required.

• Inspect new and reworked mold components and tooling.

• Perform inventory control functions.

• Designate tasks while conducting ongoing instruction around apprentices/utilities while overseeing their work.

• Must observe all rules and policies.

• All other general duties as appointed.
