New Horizons is the largest mental health and addiction recovery provider on the Treasure Coast (and beyond), serving 15,000 children and adults annually through inpatient crisis services, 24-hour help line and mobile response team, and outpatient programs conveniently located across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. In addition, New Horizons assists 22,000 students in area schools, and we work closely with the courts, law enforcement, jails, and hospitals to help improve the health of individuals and the quality of life in our community.
Our Mobile response team is an important asset to our Agency. Our MRT, responds to emergency, crisis calls to schools or other areas assigned by the Team Leader, Program Manager, or Division Director. Calls may be from the community in the four-county area (St. Lucie, Indian River, Martin and Okeechobee). Purpose of responses shall be to conduct an emergency mental health screening and provide appropriate dispositions for individuals in severe and acute distress. Secondarily, to offer follow-up support through phone calls and/or home visits to individuals who have recently discharged from an inpatient unit.
As a mobile response team-Family Systems Navigation Coordinator, you will act as a liaison , Mobile Response Team, and system partners, including Child Welfare, the department of Juvenile Justice and school districts in order to develop and maintain collaborative relationships. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.
As a Mobile Response Team-Family Systems Navigation Coordinator your responsibilities will included:
- Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with system partners
- Providing outreach to system partners pertaining to MRT services for the purpose of developing memorandums and understand and collaborative agreements
- providing technical assistance with MRT staff that is specific to child welfare, school systems, and juvenile justice
- Attending and completing necessary trainings as required and educating MRT staff members

New Horizons will need you to have the following qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a Human Services field
- Minimum of 5 years' work experience in children's systems
- Must have a strong knowledge of Child Welfare, School systems and Juvenile Justice
- Must be able to apply Therapeutic Effective Aggression Management (CPI/CARE) Techniques without limitations.
