MIXER OPERATOR Job at Kent Nutrition Group
Kent Nutrition Group/Blue Seal, a member of the Kent Corporation family of companies has a great opportunity to join their team as a Mixer Operator in Sheldon, Iowa! This role will perform all scheduled feed mill mixing in a safe, proficient and efficient manner for optimum production that meets company specifications. This is an hourly position that offers an excellent complete benefits package. Night Shift or Weekend Shifts available.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain mixing system for all finished feeds
- Calibration of the mixing system
- Ensure all mixing is in accordance with formula card for quality assurance
- Record and update logs of various feed formulations mixed daily
- Make sure equipment is operating properly, cleaned and maintained to ensure proper and continual working condition if mill operation
- Keep management informed of any errors or issues in the mixing process
- Follow feed mill Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist in any area of production as requested by the production superintendent, plant manager or supervisor
- Learn and follow cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) in Feed Mixer’s Guide
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Good communication, verbal, written and math skills.
- Work and cooperate with all fellow employees.
- Thorough understanding of cGMP’s.
- Knowledge of HACCP Feed & Food Safety Plan.
- Knowledge of FSMA.
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to safely lift up to 75 lbs from floor to working height, as job requires.
