Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) Job at Hood Lumber
We have an opening for an experienced Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) to join or night shift Maintenance team at our sawmill located in Metcalf, GA (near Thomasville, GA).
Duties include, but not limited to, diagnose and make needed repairs to Saws, Edgers, Sorters, Stacking, etc. equipment; preventative maintenance; fabricate equipment and make modifications; repair or replace chains; belt conveyors; gear boxes/drive chains; hydraulics & pneumatics; welding/cutting; and using power tools. Hours are primarily 5pm – 5am, Monday – Friday with some Saturday night work.
The successful candidate must have at least 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing environment. The experience should include troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance to a variety of production equipment including belts, sprockets, chains, shafts, gears, motor/drive alignment, pumps, etc. Strong stick welding/fabrication and knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics a must. Please note this is NOT a welding job...you must have extensive experience in all phases of heavy production equipment maintenance. A high priority is placed on current and previous job stability.
Starting pay rate is $22/hr. We offer a $1/hr shift differential for all hours worked between 5pm – 5am. A higher starting pay rate may be possible and dependent on a written and hands-on skills test.
Metcalfe is located 10 minutes south of Thomasville, GA (southwest GA, just north of Tallahassee, FL). You will also be eligible for one week of vacation after six (6) months of employment.
