Founded in 1979, Mount Madonna School (MMS) is a co-educational, preschool-12, college preparatory day school nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountain straddling Watsonville and Gilroy. We have an opening for the 2023-24 school year, starting August 2022 for a full-time Middle School Humanities teacher. This position includes teaching social studies to grades 6-8 and one English course.

The ideal candidate will have:

• The ability to relate well with both students and parents
• Good organization and communication skills
• Flexibility
• The ability to collaborate and work well with colleagues
• The ability to develop engaging curriculum and assessment practices
• A commitment to creating an inclusive classroom and curriculum
• Familiarity with or openness to learning about grading and assessment practices that align with a commitment to equity
• Teaching experience preferred, teaching credential not required
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in the Humanities or education
