Harwood Unified Union School District is seeking an Assistant Principal for the Crossett Brook Middle School in Duxbury, VT. This position will begin on November 28, 2022. Harwood Unified Union School District (HUUSD) serves six rural communities in central Vermont: Duxbury, Fayston, Moretown, Waitsfield, Warren, and Waterbury. The District comprises four PK-6 elementary schools, one PK-4 primary school, one 5-8 middle school and a middle/high school serving grades 7-12a total of seven schools. All of our schools have high academic expectations and score at or above the state average consistently in areas of language arts, math, and science. HUUSD is a wholesome, livable district with strong community support for and participation in the educational process.Crossett Brook Middle School serves students in grades 5-8, with a current enrollment of 300+, and students coming from Waterbury, Duxbury, and the Mad River Valley towns. The Assistant Principal position at CBMS represents an outstanding opportunity to join an administration and staff that is proud of its strong historical commitment to quality middle level education. Together, the new administrative team will work on all aspects of the Crossett Brook educational program, including staff evaluation, student assessment, curriculum development, instructional improvement, coordination of special education, school discipline, budget management, parent and community relations, and day-to-day school management. Candidates must have or be eligible to obtain a Vermont certification as a Principal. A masters degree in education and 2 years of school experience are preferred. Additional qualifications include strong interpersonal, facilitation, communication skills, and a commitment to communicating with all internal and external constituencies, including faculty, staff, central office, parents, and community members. The contract for this position is a 210-day contract. Compensation will be competitive for this geographic area and based on training and experience.
