Position Objective:

To create and support inspection, measurement, and test methods for products; and prove out product conformance to print specifications and process capability.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:15pm

Job Description

  • Coordinate with New Product Development (MPD) to prioritize measurement projects and establish timelines.
  • Perform product studies including First Article Inspection (FAI), capability studies and process comparisons.
  • Create and evaluate measurement methods of critical dimensions, utilizing Gare Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) techniques and documentation.
  • Program automated inspection tools, including a tough-probe Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) and vision CMMs.
  • Write instructions for newly established measurement methods and techniques.
  • Assist other departments with special measurement studies and problem-solving.
  • Preform other job duties as required.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

ASQ certified quality technician preferred

Experience:

  • Ability to create a schedule and manage multiple jobs with similar timeframes
  • Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate with a team - which may have differing objectives
  • Ability to efficiently navigate a computer, as well as a strong familiarity with Office products (primarily Excel formulations and calculations)
  • Ability to read technical drawings and blue prints
  • Basic understanding of the Cartesian and Polar Coordinate systems
  • Understanding of the Six Degrees of Freedom and how they relate to measurement reliability
  • Ability to create reliable CNC routines
  • Recognition of ISO standards and Quality system requirements including traceability, controlled documentation, and product revisions.
