Job Description
The MES Administrator is responsible for the ongoing configuration of the MES system to support product builds. Specifically this involves the creation of routes, deviations, implementation of Engineering Changes which impact the Bill of Material, material control & segregation, user permissions, station setup and working with end users to troubleshoot production issues.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the MFG Operations, MFG Process Engineering & Product Engineering teams to solicit requirements and construct routes within the MES system.
- Provide production support to diagnose and resolve MES issues encountered.
- Devise and execute a training plan with new hires required to use the MES system.
- Compare current processes with industry best practices and identifies gaps and improvement opportunities
- Support and document requirements that pertain to the integration of MES with other internal systems.
- Coordinate with IT and MFG operations to manage and communicate system downtime due to infrastructure upgrades/maintenance activities.
- Creation of documentation for system configuration to facilitate cross training of system functionality
- Ability to write custom SQL queries to mine data for specific user needs
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to MES systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks in a fast paced environment while ensuring that commitments and timelines are met.
- Ability to partner with internal stakeholders to design operational solutions.
- Goal oriented, forward thinker that can provide solutions for complex technical problems.
- Understanding of infrastructure services and IT
- Comfortable working with SQL and developing queries
Education
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
