What You Will Do as a Merchandiser

This position is responsible for creating compelling product assortments for the US Workwear Market, as well as driving assortment direction and business results focused on category/consumer. The Merchandiser works directly with the Director of Product Creation and the greater Product, Sales and Marketing teams to plan, organize and develop the product line from strategic planning through retail placement to optimize profit and meet consumer, marketing, financial and corporate objectives.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Participate in the development and execution of strategic assortment based on thorough knowledge of market, brand and business.
  • Key partner in communication of business needs with management to drive the strategic direction. This person is the key liaison between design, production, sales and marketing.
  • Work closely with design and production on costing and product development as well as on quickly adapting on-order for emerging sales trends or declining product categories.
  • Manage the pricing strategy to achieve targets while aligning with overall pricing direction and understanding of competition.
  • Generate business analyses to track selling, identify key trends and maximize opportunities to achieve continued growth and profitability of the workwear apparel business.

Skills for Success

  • Bachelor of Arts: Merchandising, Product Management, Business preferred, or equivalent combination of years of experience
  • 3+ years of experience in merchandising or development for a retail company
  • Excellence in product line architecture and Go-To-Market process with an awareness of product creation timelines.
  • Ability to strategize and execute category positioning, goals and development but can also be extremely detail oriented when necessary.
  • Ability to utilize retail math skills and analyze sales numbers, profit margins, costing and pricing to develop insights/recommendations based on the analysis.
  • Team player that is comfortable with leading cross-functional team members to a successful outcome.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $61,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
