Job Title: Mentor and Internship Program Coordinator

Job Function:
The mission of the Dayton School of Business (DSB) Mentor and Internship Program is to create a mechanism which prepares students for the complex, global world beyond 2030. Specifically, the program aims to harness Asbury’s liberal arts tradition in tandem with courses and majors in the DSB to inculcate the capacities, competencies, sensibilities, skills, and virtues that are robust to endure the dynamism of tomorrow’s rapid, unpredictable, information-saturated, global marketplace. These include creativity, collaboration, communication, imagination, critical thinking, ethical awareness and self-awareness. An important part of the position is supporting the ministry and mission of the University and advancing the academic excellence and spiritual vitality of our University and students. Each employee plays an important role in the development of the Christian faith in our students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, measure, analyze, improve, and control the program on a continual basis.
- Develop and facilitate with other stakeholders and partners the components of the program.
- Identify, cultivate, and train mentor and mentee program participants specific to DSB.
- Work with established and new campus partners to identify internship opportunities for students.
- Work with other specialists and faculty members to provide campus programming.
- Collaborate with DSB leadership to expand reach of the program and provide opportunities for external stakeholders to connect with DSB students.
- Actively engage with undergraduate and graduate students in the Dayton School of Business to promote the program.
- Coordinate with the supervising professor, student, and employer to get all information needed if an internship is for credit, including the mentoring experience for the MBA program.
- Provide quarterly analysis and reporting on DSB student participation.
- Capture data related to student participation. Establish data-driven goals and assess goals annually.
- Participate in Dayton School of Business meetings.
- Coordinate with the Catalyst Center as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time on-site position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Potential exists to work some evenings and weekends.
Travel:
No travel is expected for this position.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Master of Business Administration or Doctor of Business Administration degree preferred
- Self-starter with strong management/organizational skills capable of taking ownership of the program.
- Must be detail oriented and possess strong editing and communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, with logical problem solving.
- Must exercise discretion in handling confidential information.
- Demonstrate ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty and staff.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- A committed and dynamic Christian faith is vital along with the ability to support the University’s theological position, lifestyle standards and mission.
