About This Role:
A Mental Health Professional-Clinical Trainee works under the direction of the Mental Health Treatment Director and under the clinical supervision of the Mental Health Clinical Supervisor to develop clinical skills and deliver clinical services to our clients-including providing diagnostic assessments and individual/group/family psychotherapy.
About You:
Mental Health Professional – Clinical Trainee must be qualified in at least one of the two following ways:
- (1) Hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in the behavioral sciences, or related fields (e.g. psychology, social work etc.), and is on a track for an independent licensure in the State of Minnesota (LICSW, LP, LMFT, LPCC)

- (2) Is currently enrolled in an accredited graduate level program in the behavioral sciences, or related fields (e.g. psychology, social work etc.), and is on a track for an independent licensure in the State of Minnesota (LICSW, LP, LMFT, LPCC)
- Qualified individuals must have a minimum of 1,500 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of clinical services to adults, adolescents and/or children with: Mental illness, substance use disorders, developmental disorders or traumatic brain injuries
- Qualifications also include computer knowledge and skills, especially in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to become proficient in other electronic platforms as required for the position
Preferred Knowledge Areas:
- Understand the causes and symptoms of mental health issues, a knowledge of coping skills, risk assessment, family dynamics and supports, crisis management, relapse prevention, conflict resolution skills, have analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of substance abuse and co-occurring mental illness and how they intersect.
- Understand crisis management and the ability to deal with life threatening situations including the prevention of suicide.
- Knowledge and experience creating treatment plans, writing progress notes, and creating client assessments.
