DAY-TO-DAY

This full-time vocational rehabilitation position in human services works during the day.

As a Mental Health - Employment Navigator with our nonprofit, you serve as the main point of contact for participants referred to us by the Department of Human Services. You work with participants to develop a MAP for their career and personal goals that you update over time as needed. The resources you use to achieve these goals include relevant assessment tools, coaching techniques, and appropriate accountability structures. You also help participants access family support or health and well-being resources, including mental health or domestic violence, early childhood education, childcare, K-12 education support for children, support networks, and economic assets such as financial aid or public benefits.

Additionally, you help participants access career advancement resources, including career exploration tools and training programs that emphasize employer hiring needs, employment placement, vocational training, and higher education programs. You help participants build connections through paid work-based learning and score promotions after initial job placement. Alongside coaching and planning daily activities, you also assist participants in completing paperwork, attending appointments, and making introductions to service providers. Coordinating with external providers, you ensure participants consistently make meaningful progress toward their goals.

As needed, you conduct outreach to referred participants and re-engage participants who disengaged from our services. You work with other staff to identify appropriate activities, resources, and support services for our participants as well as track activity performance metrics for success. Using your strong organizational skills, you capture and record employment, education, and other goal achievements for our participants. You also document important information in our electronic case management (ECM) systems and compile data for reports, including participant timesheets and placement. You enjoy having a job that uses your exceptional counseling skills to do important work, which is why you thrive in this vocational rehabilitation case management position with our human services nonprofit!
