Membership Marketing and Communications Manager Job at Building Owners and Managers Association
The Denver Metro Building Owners and Managers Association (Denver Metro BOMA) is a nonprofit trade association representing owners and managers of commercial office and other commercial buildings. BOMA advances the commercial real estate industry through advocacy, professional development and the exchange of knowledge.
We are seeking a Membership Marketing & Communications Manager to join our team. The Membership Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for assisting in the coordination of operations of the Association by providing membership and communications support as well as administrative support. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to, the following:
· Responsible for ensuring that the Member value of the Association is regularly reviewed and delivered.
Create, distribute and analyze member surveys for use in analyzing future program changes; direct member outreach activites such as focus groups to ensure member feedback received is quality enough to use for strategic planning
· Actively promote Association to prospective members and sponsors
Membership prospect pipeline updated with outreach notes and new companies for outreach.
· Manage the Association membership database and BOMA International Membership database.
Ensure all member data is clean. Reports created and distributed on time; In partnership with Operations and Accounting Specialist – coordinate dues invoicing with QuickBooks
· Manage all member communication
Design, edit, find and write content for the weekly e-newsletter and stand-alone emails as deemed necessary: Newsletter is created in Your Membership the AMS; Distribute via email every Monday before 9:30 am; Oversee contractor responsible for BOMA Newsletter advertising (solicitation, artwork management, etc.); tracking and reporting of communication statistics monthly; Communication process to onboard new members
· Responsibility for maintaining and updating Association social media account(s)
Regularly update Denver Metro BOMA's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts with content to create a following and active participation by members. Determine when content should be released; create new social media accounts as new technology comes about; tracking and reporting of communication statistics monthly
· Repositioning and management of Association website
Manage website – oversee and make recommendations for the website design; update content minimum 2xs/week; maintain and update online member database; direct contact for members with website inquiries; tracking and reporting of communication statistics monthly
· Lead the planning and organization of newly developed programs and events designed to increase outreach to new categories of membership
New types of membership/target groups could include Industrial, Engineering, and Educational/Institutional
· Direct all public relations activities
Oversee and direct work of the contractor(s) for Public Relations efforts; manage the media partners and ensure BOMA is represented in each issue through advertising, articles, or the supplemental inserts
· Manage organizational brand - all marketing materials related to current programs, events, and meetings
Ensure the BOMA brand is on point for all things delivered; Event assistance, including marketing materials – oversee design and production of event invitations, event email blasts, programs, signage, and other materials as needed. Design and edit occasional PowerPoint presentations for events or seminars, event photography, and occasional technical assistance at events.
· Staff Liaison to assigned Committees to manage their success in achievement of the Association Strategic Plan.
Attend all committee meetings and activities. Guide the committee's leadership to ensure the communications and meeting minutes are done timely before and after each scheduled meeting. Meetings and activities may be offsite within the region or in the BOMA office.
· Regular regional travel will be required based on the schedule of Association activities. Occasional overnight trips outside of the region may also be necessary.
Other Duties
· Assist with registration on-site at events
· Answer, accept, and/or direct all incoming calls.
· Other duties assigned to contribute to the office and the Association's effectiveness, efficiency, and growth.
Qualifications:
Qualifications for this position include proficient reading, writing, and grammar skills; exceptional interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Adobe InDesign preferred; strong communication skills; marketing experience preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum of an associate degree required. 3 years related experience required.
The ideal candidate is well organized, able to multi-task, has excellent communications skills, likes to have fun, and is available to work occasional early mornings and late evenings—the ability to work with a diverse group of volunteers, members, and staff.
Needs to have the ability to stand, stoop, bend, climb, and lift items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds and a valid driver's license.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
