A Private Club in Oakland County is looking for a Membership Director to join our leadership team of highly talented and engaged professionals. The property includes 18 holes of golf, practice areas, a swimming pool, outside banquet and gathering areas, sport court and playground turf area and a completely renovated clubhouse equipped with spa-like locker rooms, a fitness center, trackman simulators and floor to ceiling windows in the ballroom. The Club operates 12 months out of the year with no shut down time.
This position will develop and implement programs, activities and projects designed to increase and retain current memberships. This is a full-time position with a varying weekly schedule based on tour scheduling and business needs. The Membership Director will represent the Club in its relationships with members, the community and businesses and actively promote the Club within all these areas. The individual selected for this position will play a major role in enhancing the Club, staff and membership and should be a positive, self- motivated, hardworking, team and detail oriented worker.

Education and Experience:
  • Experience in the private club or hospitality industry preferred
  • At least 2 years of sales or customer service experience, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Knowledge of the Golf/Private Club Industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or Hospitality preferred
  • Microsoft Office knowledge: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Job Knowledge and Expectations:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently exceeding expectations and elevating experiences
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with everyone they interact with
  • Direct and oversee the activities of the Membership Department (marketing, recruitment, membership initiatives, ect.) and control the budget provided
  • Consistently promotes and encourages staff and member engagement
  • Understanding of the market dynamics, target market and analytics reporting for social media outlets
  • Generate qualified leads and successfully execute marketing campaigns
  • Participate in outbound sales activities and networking events to create brand awareness
  • Up to date on industry trends and competitor offerings
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of all membership categories and rules and regulations of the Club

Essential Job Tasks and Duties:
  • Schedules and conducts all membership tours
  • Develop and implement creative marketing strategies to enhance and retain membership levels
  • Manage the Clubs membership database
  • Execution of the Club’s marketing and membership initiatives with growth reporting weekly, monthly and quarterly
  • Responsible for the administration of the Club’s website and mobile application posting only relevant and current information
  • Managing all social media platforms, promoting the Club through brand approved posts and responding to messages timely
  • Work with the management team in the planning and execution of of membership events and promotions
  • Maximizing attendance at all member events
  • Ensures established procedures in the Club’s By-Laws and Rules and Regulations are enforced and followed by all
  • Prepare and lead marketing and membership meetings on a weekly basis
  • Assesses the need for and makes recommendations regarding membership classifications to help ensure that the needs of ever-changing markets are met
  • Reporting of all KPIs to ensure marketing and membership initiatives are effective and within the target market

  • Indoor and outdoor working environment with foot traffic and driving a golf cart
  • Repetitive motion at a computer
