What You Need
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required.
- Associate degree is preferred.
- (2) years of medical staff or credentialing experience is required.
- (6) years of medical staff or credentialing experience is highly preferred.
- (6 to 7) years of credentialing experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Medical Staff Coordinator Certification is preferred.
- Dedicated to the highest quality in all aspects of your work.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize work daily.
- Must possess critical and analytical thinking skills.
- Must possess excellent follow up skills.
- Excellent attention to details is a must.
- Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft products and web-based queries.
- Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions is highly needed.

In addition to the qualifications an experienced Medical Staff Coordinator/Credentialing Coordinator will have practical knowledge in the following areas:
- Processes initial and reappointment applications, checking for completeness and accuracy, including primary source verification of confidential and sensitive practitioner information.
- Privileging for physicians and advanced practice professionals/allied health practitioners
- Ensures that all credentials’ files are current and complete pursuant to expiration date of medical licenses, board certification, professional-liability insurance coverage, DEA and other pertinent information, per bylaws, rules and regulations, and policies and procedures
- Maintains credentialing database with current practitioner information.
- Audits files based on internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitors and reports application status and provide correspondence as appropriate.
- Experience with credentialing databases (MSOW would be a plus)
- Experience with regulatory and accreditation standards and requirements (i.e., the Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services)
- Experience with Credentials Committee and Medical Executive Committee meetings and activities as well as other Medical Staff Committees.
- Familiarity with Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE).
- All other related Medical Staff office / Medical Staff affairs activities and tasks.
What You’ll Do
Coordinate and process requests for applications evaluate eligibility for application receipt according to bylaws. Upon receipt of a complete application, initiate the information collection, verification, and documentation process per established policies and procedures.
