Job Description
Our company is growing, and we are looking for a caring, skilled, and organized medical front desk receptionist to join our healthcare team. You will perform a combination of various administrative/clerical tasks necessary to provide a positive and compassionate experience for our patients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to answering our multi-line telephone system, patient registration and discharge, insurance verification, answering patient questions, and updating and filing patients’ electronic medical records. Other duties include maintaining office supply inventory, performing preventive maintenance to keep office equipment operating properly, and other duties as assigned by the clinic manager.
Job Duties
Greet patients and visitors upon arrival
Accurately register patients according to training guidelines when the patient presents for the clinic
Check in the patient, and obtain insurance information, and any other necessary data to update patient demographics
Verify insurance eligibility and coverage and identify co-payment agreements in preparation for collection at the time of service
Collect and record co-payments and other out of pocket patient responsibilities and issue receipt of payment
Answer multi line telephones and either direct the caller to the appropriate staff or handle the caller's needs
Protects patients' rights by maintaining the utmost level of confidentiality of personal and financial information
Obtain insurance authorizations from payors when necessary/appropriate
Manage electronic health record such as retrieve medical records and patient information
Document telephone encounters appropriate to the clinic.
Reconcile medical records.
Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, placing orders for supplies and scheduling equipment service and repairs
Adheres to company policies and procedures
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrates thoroughness, organizational skills, and dependability
Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy healthcare office environment
Must be able to effectively work as a team member which includes communicating and working effectively with patients, family, clinic staff, and healthcare providers
HIPAA trained/certified
Proficient in data entry with 60 WPM
Proficient in Medical records/EMR experience
Able to handle change and multi-tasking
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong patient service skills by having a compassionate and friendly attitude as well as willing to help others
Familiar with Supply Management and Infection Control
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Staff are required to wear provided N95 or similar masks when interfacing with patients.
Patients are requested to wear face coverings at all times during their visit.
