What You'll Do
The role of the Medical Concierge 1 is to assess the diagnostic viability of veterinary cytology slides including blood films, fine needle aspirates, fluid analysis, fecal samples and urinalysis that are submitted from a veterinary clinic or hospital through a virtual teleconsulting platform (CELLFIE) to a remote board-certified clinical pathologist. The ideal candidates will be a strong communicator who can assess submissions and determine if the quality of the slide is of diagnostic standard for a clinical pathologist to be able to evaluate and interpret the findings on the slide.
The medical concierge 1 ensures that all information pertaining to the patient’s history, physical exam, and clinical diagnostics is included in the case submission form as required. The candidate will be able to complete each assessment slide submission and communicate between customers and clinical pathologists assigned to the case with a high level of quality, efficiency, and professionalism.
The applicant will be a veterinary technician who will be able to inform the clinic if the cytology slide is adequate for the evaluation of a clinical pathologist or if the sample needs to be collected again, whether the staining of the slides needs to be re-done or if there is not enough cellularity on the slide to yield a diagnosis.
The Position Responsibilities:
- The candidate will work 100% remotely and be available to assess sample slides Monday – Friday to cover 8-hour shifts and every other Saturdays to cover 4-hour shifts.
- Shifts may vary depending on the different US time zone hours of service, east, central, mountain or pacific time.
- The candidate will assess the diagnostic viability of the sample slide in a timely manner less than 15 minutes per case.
Each Candidate will need to:
- Have direct access to consistent reliable high speed internet service.
- Have excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Be able to organize and prioritize work.
- Have a service-oriented attitude.
Requirements: The successful candidate will need to be a Veterinary Technician.
- The education level/degree is CVT: Certified Veterinary Technician also call LVT or RVT; licensed or registered respectively.
- Experience with clinical pathology sample preparation and interpretation is preferred.
- 1-5 years of experience
Preferred:
- A certification in clinical pathology and experience in diagnosis is highly preferred.
