Job Summary:

Action Urgent Care is looking for a Medical Billing & Coding Specialist to join the team! This position is responsible for managing the full-cycle billing, coding, and claim follow up. Additionally, they will communicate frequently with leadership to ensure best practices for clinical and non-clinical staff alike.

Responsibilities:

• Coding and submitting claims.
• Processing Explanation of Benefits and patient statements.
• Working on claim reconsideration requests and appeals.
• Answering a multi-line phone system to collect payments and assist patients with their billing questions.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and information security.
• Reviewing and submitting medical records.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum two years experience in medical practice billing.
• Strong proficiency working with denials, appeals, insurance collections.
• Working knowledge of local/national coverage determinations and payor policies.
• ICD-10 and CPT coding assessment skills.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel).
• Experience using computerized billing systems.
• A patient-first, mission-oriented mindset.
• CPC or CCS Certification preferred, not required.
• Experience using Dr. Chrono preferred, not required.
