Windsor EMS is seeking an experienced medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in healthcare billing and coding, as well as excellent organizational and customer service skills
WAGE: $18.00 - $24.00 DOE
Skills:
- Certified Ambulance Coder preferred but not necessary
- Read and interpret PCR and supporting documentation for efficient billing
- Determine correct level of service and diagnosis codes in proper sequencing
- Assign appropriate modifiers
- Data entry
- Knowledge of appeals and denials
- Maintain up to date knowledge of billing regulations and changes
- Payment posting
- Work denials or no pay’s correctly and promptly
- Electronic claim submission with minimal errors
- Follow up on claims not paid timely
- Compile Client Invoices
- Collections including but not limited to patient, client, and insurance
- Maintains multiple spread sheets for different project tracking
- Researches addresses from return mail
- Knowledge of Central Square preferred
- Ability to readily calculate mileage, discounts, interest
- Must be able to apply common sense to understanding instructions, assignments, and tasks
- Proficient in verbal communication
- Effective time management
- Proficient negotiation skills
