Medical Assistant Trainee Program (Next Class January 2023) Job at Exeter Hospital
Paid Medical Assistant training program (hourly stipend paid while attending program) which includes attendance of eight week classroom training at our Hampton training center and four week clinical internship at any of our various locations/offices. Successful completion of program will require passing final exam and demonstrating competency in selected skills by end of clinical internship. Clinical internship will include four weeks of training in our facilities under the direct supervision and responsibility of preceptor/liaison. Classroom work will include attendance of 40 hours per week of classroom education and shadow opportunities within various practices for eight weeks.
Tuition: $6,500.00 (candidates may apply for grant funding through various programs/agencies)
Books and laptop provided for use during program.
Graduates will be prepared to work as a Medical Assistant in a Core Physician's practice and be eligible to take the National exam (CCMA).

Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
Major Responsibilities:
- Performs clinical duties such as assisting provider in examinations, procedures and obtaining vital signs.
- Cleans instruments and exam rooms as needed.
- Prepares instruments for sterilization as required.
- Orders and stocks exam rooms with appropriate medical supplies.
- Calls in prescriptions as directed by the provider.
- May schedule pre-admission and diagnostic testing, follow up with patients after surgeries.
- Performs administrative duties including answering telephone inquiries, scheduling, organizing patient charts, filing, pulling and copying patient records.
- Maintains and adheres to established Core policies and procedures and federal regulations, including, patient confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Location: Exeter Hospital · CORE-Training-ADMIN
Schedule: full time, Day Shift, Mon- Fri 8:30-5pm.(varied hours & days after program completion based on permanent placement)
