ZRoc Dermatology is currently seeking an exceptional Medical Assistant to join our growing team and brand. The candidate must have superb customer service and have the ability to multi-task while always maintaining a smile. Medical experience with authorizations/referrals and tech-savvy a plus. MOHS and SRT Experience a plus.

Job Summary: We have an opening for a full-time Medical Assistant in a busy Dermatology/Aesthetic facility. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for asssuring that authorizations/referrals are received by the facility for patient's that require them. This position will also require the individual to assist the medical team with patients . The ability to work in a team based environment is required. Aestheticians with Medical Assistant experience a plus.

Must be personable, have superb patient care skills, and can take direction with ease.

Job Responsibilities:

• Retrieving authorizations/referrals from primary care provider's when necessary Verify patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
• Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests and reporting patient history summary.
• Be able to assist in cosmetic procedures such as botox, laser treatments, fillers, etc.
• Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
• Counsel patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about surgery or service.
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Act as a Scribe for the doctor using an EMR system (EMA)
• Must work great in a team environment Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• Prior medical office experience a plus EMR experience a plus Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Nextgen, Brilliant Distinctions Program, Aspire Rewards Program, ZocDoc a plus
• ICD-10 knowledge a plus Knowledge of authorizations/referrals a must
