We are an established and growing Dermatology practice looking for a talented, dedicated, and enthusiastic Medical Assistant to join our team.

The ideal candidate loves hands-on patient care, assisting with procedures, and always comes to work with a smile. We are looking for an energetic, compassionate, and reliable team player with excellent customer service skills and a desire to serve patients and their families in our community!

One year of experience is preferred, however, we are willing to consider the right individual that demonstrates a strong interest in dermatology with a dedicated passion to learn!

This is a full-time position, Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Competitive salary, health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, uniforms, and paid vacation as well as complimentary staff cosmetic services!!!! YES!

Job duties include:

  • Rooming patients and taking medical histories.
  • Assisting during medical examinations and documenting encounters, utilizing our EMR system, EMA™.
  • Assisting during dermatological procedures, including biopsies, excision, and Mohs surgery.
  • Preparing patients for procedures; including administering injections.
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms and medical instruments.
  • Calling patients with biopsy results, scheduling procedures, and tracking pathology results.
  • Performing suture removals, dressing changes, and wound checks.
  • Explaining procedures and providers’ instructions to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinates with clinic staff and providers to ensure an exceptional patient experience - from the waiting room to check out. Prepares and assists providers with the collection, documentation, processing, and verification of information related to patient care in an electronic medical records (ModMed / EMA) system.

Assists with surgical procedures, including Mohs surgery, excisions, and biopsies. Communicates patient concerns and needs to the healthcare provider. Provides timely responses to patient inquiries and completion of assigned tasks. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on the phone, in writing, as well as the ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters. Overall, helping to create a great patient experience!

Essential Skills/ Requirements:

  • Previous medical assistant experience (1+ years) - Dermatology experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical/dermatology terminology and abbreviations
  • Must have strong computer and communication skills, (experience with an EHR system, EMA™ is a plus!).
  • Must be punctual and be able to work from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday – Friday.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent patient service and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsible team player with a positive and professional attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED equivalent, verifiable successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, Certified Dermatology Tech, or licensed nurse.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Successful completion of a medical assisting internship with one or more years experience, preferably in dermatology, or other outpatient clinics/ healthcare settings.

- One or more years of demonstrated customer service experience.

- Experience working with an EMR system, especially EMA / Modmed.
