Bridge City is a small, private medical clinic offering primary care and mental health services. We have an immediate opening for a medical assistant to join us in a supportive team oriented environment where we care about our patients, staff and providers equally.

As a medical assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. Each day offers variety as we serve a diverse patient population. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. Experience in primary care is preferred however, new medical assistant graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and document basic medical history
• Rooming patients and taking accurate vital signs
• Organize and schedule appointments
• Update and file medical records and insurance reports
• Arrange referrals
• Accurate and complete documentation of pertinent information in the medical chart
• Assist during medical examinations as needed
• Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
• Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records as needed
• Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
• Other duties as assigned depending upon clinic needs

Skills

• Proven working experience as a medical assistant
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Social perceptiveness and service oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
• Degree in medical assistance
