Auriga Polymers Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Indorama Ventures PLC is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Engineering group located at our Spartanburg, SC facility. We are looking for a highly motivated professional with demonstrated capabilities. A successful individual in this role must have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven, ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities / Job Requirements:

  • Develop reliability project scopes based on manufacturing and operational needs.
  • Continually track and monitor reliability issues in focus area; pareto based on value
  • Provide value added economical solutions for reliability issues.
  • Enhance proper documentation of equipment in various plant systems.
  • Work with site EHS to insure OSHA regulations and Compliance regulations are fully met.
  • Facilitate reliability solutions with key stakeholders.
  • Timely completion and closure of reliability improvements.
  • Recommend improvement in site systems to enhance reliable asset performance.
  • Perform other duties, assignments and projects as assigned.
  • Learn from support role models.
  • Employ strategic reliability principles for continuous improvement (FMEA, RCFA, PPA, RCM etc.)
  • Lead Turn-arounds
  • Very familiar with rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps, mechanical seals, blowers, gearboxes, liquid ring vacuum pumps, rotary lobe blowers, etc
  • Can lead vibration analysis group
  • Ensures adequate spare parts are available
  • Leads the pump and gearbox shops

Requirements/ Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering is required; Mechanical degree is preferred; Lean Six-Sigma exposure/certification is preferred.
  • 10 years experience in a manufacturing and chemical process environment preferably in a polymer processing facility or papermill or refinery.
  • A strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, WORD and other Microsoft® software tools is essential and required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Strong team leader/facilitator to provide customer with value added solutions.
  • Willingness to work the necessary hours to support plant operations (shutdowns and start-ups, etc.)
