Mechanical Planner

Experience: This position requires 8+ years of relevant industrial experience in managing planners & building packages.

Generally responsible for assisting in planning heavy industrial mechanical/piping projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision.

• Read and understand work order defining scope items
• Summarize in writing each scope items as regards repair/replace/new scope description
• P&ID understanding and interpretation
• Drawing “simple” schematics sketches drawings (refinery equip/assets and pipe)
• Reading IFC and engineering packages
• Stepping out all jobs related to mechanical/vessel/tower clean inspection and repair scope
• Stepping out all jobs related to valves, piping build, and/or replacement in-kind scope
• Ability to decide crane size requirements or know how to obtain same
• Understands basic primavera schedules
• Must be able to coach planners and perform the package development along side planners
• Must take photos of scope items and be able to markup using photo editor and articulate plan verbiage
• Build TA individual scope package on paper as well as electronically
• Manage over-all spreadsheet that progresses planning percent complete

• Knowledge of other disciplines deliverable development to ensure coordination of efforts.
• Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all project controls deliverables.
• Basic understanding of Primavera P6 scheduling software.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.

• Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
