Mechanical Design Estimator Proficient with Plumbing/Fire Protection/Mechanical Management
Estimating & Design.

A Privately owned Mechanical Contracting Company serving New York thru North Carolina is seeking an experienced Plumbing/Fire Protection/Mechanical Project Manager Design Estimator for our North Carolina

Office.

An experienced Design Estimator will manage preconstruction projects for clients throughout the Eastern

Seaboard of the United States and interact daily with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

The successful candidate will be accountable & responsible for being awarded Mechanical Projects of varied scopes and sizes. The candidate will Manage & work closely with various departments, to ensure customer satisfaction and proper execution of project agenda.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost projections and estimates from Engineered & Design Build Drawings. Proactively identify any deficiencies or potential discrepancies; and be responsible for the process of requisitioning for additional information and/or answers
• Establish and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors and subcontractors.
• Review documents to determine scope of work and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare Design Built Drawings when necessary and/or complete detailed material take-offs and workup sheets using Trimble, AutoCAD, & BIM software on pre-engineered drawings.

• Clear and concise inter-departmental Leadership Communication to ensure all project agendas and timelines are met
• Interface with teams for the purpose of planning and scheduling work in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
• Review pre-purchase documentation for materials or equipment, ensure validity and reasonable pricing.

Qualifications

• Design & proficient Knowledge of Plumbing, Fire Protection, Mechanical systems is required.
• 1 Year Minimum of experience successfully preparing plumbing, mechanical fire protection designs, cost projections and proposals for commercial grade mechanical and plumbing projects using Trimble,

AutoCAD, & BIM software.

• Thorough understanding of related trades for the purposes of coordinating various project estimates and company resources
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and adept in computer systems
• Must display a high level of integrity and professionalism
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, analytical and a strong attention to detail
• Ability to handle a fast-paced workload under tight deadlines
• Must be able to prioritize and manage time efficiently to meet submission deadlines
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and collaborative skills are a must
