POSITION SUMMARY: As an Engineer at E-ONE you will be part of a dynamic team that is supporting a global product line with varied responsibilities related to sourcing, product improvements, applications, development, and documentation involving on-site machining, welding, assembly, and testing operations as well as a worldwide supply chain. Reporting to the Applications Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will actively design and engineer plumbing and pump module related assemblies and/or parts to customer specifications and work with production, procurement, Suppliers & Quality during the assembly/fabrication process.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Create and edit 3D master models, 3D models, and 3D assemblies in Creo.
  • Create complex detail drawings, multi-level bills of material, and component specifications.
  • Update and automate creation of existing production designs and drawings.
  • Initiate change orders, check BOMs, CBOMs and design print packages.
  • Establish test plans to validate new/modified designs or benchmark existing designs.
  • Analyze customer requirements and propose innovative solutions.
  • Rapidly generate novel and practical solutions to a variety of problems.
  • Rapidly resolve internal or external technical problems.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-year Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, Welding, or other related Engineering discipline
  • 3-7 years practical experience in engineering related position, or equivalent
  • Strong working knowledge in general drawing, drafting standards, and GD&T.
  • Highly proficient with 3D CAD systems and tools – PTC CREO, RuleStream, Auto CAD, SolidWorks or equivalent.
  • Rapidly translate concepts into buildable models and designs.
  • Rapidly develop detailed drawings and bills of materials for parts and assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of applicable NFPA, ULC, FAMA, DOT, FMVSS and other regulatory guidelines
  • Proficient designing for Applications Engineering functional discipline.
  • Familiar with at least three of the primary functional areas: Aerials, Bodies, Cabs, Chassis, Electrical, Applications, or Systems
  • Proficient with technical calculations and analysis
  • Working knowledge of the Lean manufacturing process, DFM and DFMA.
  • Create project plans and coordinate resources to meet objectives.
  • Research and apply new technologies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Work independently and collaborate as part of high functioning teams.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/ATTRIBUTES:

  • Rapidly produce creative solutions in a fast paced, cross functional, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proficient with sheet metal design, extrusions, structural weldments, and fabricated assemblies.
  • Ability to design structural weldments, bolted/rivetted assemblies, precision machined components, and pump systems.
  • Experience designing vehicle subsystems: brakes, drivelines, bodies, chassis frames, electrical systems, pump systems.
  • Build strong working relationships with manufacturing and collaborate on root cause resolutions for production issues.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and collaborate effectively with other functional areas in meeting company objectives.
  • Influence & lead others without having direct supervision/authority.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Manage multiple projects and meet project deliverables and deadlines.
  • Bronze Lean Certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
