The position requires mechanical engineering and design expertise to sustain a quality and safety driven organization with high product demand. The primary roles include managing improvement projects, redesigns/modifications to existing equipment to eliminate repetitive issues, and supporting factory productivity. You will work closely with maintenance personnel and outside contractors to implement engineered solutions.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited university
- Ability to solve real world problems by developing creative/functional solutions using analytical methods and design expertise
- 2D and 3D CAD modeling experience
- Software: Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, MS Suite
- Ability to develop an initial scope of work for large capital projects
- Ability to create accurate timelines for project completion
- Display excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Manage time effectively by understanding assignment requirements, prioritizing objectives, and scheduling tasks accordingly
- Desire to learn and gain knowledge to improve overall performance
- Ability to meet fast paced deadlines while maintaining quality assurance
- Ability to collaborate with multiple manufacturing groups: Quality, Production, and Health & Safety
- Demonstrate a positive and mature attitude
Responsibilities:
- Develop and document drawings according to plant standards
- Troubleshoot complex equipment issues causing downtime
- Redesigns and modifications to existing equipment to eliminate repetitive issues
- Create new robust mechanical system designs to support manufacturing processes
- Coordinate with industrial equipment suppliers and builders as needed
- Present designs, projects, etc. to the Engineering, Operations, and the Management teams for approval and/or funding
- Identifying and implementing engineered solutions with no greater than a two-year ROI
- Managing installations of process equipment
- Influence project direction based on analysis and understanding of the product/process
- Collaborate with different Engineering disciplines, Operations, Quality Department, and Health & Safety
- Communicate potential engineering changes to relevant parties throughout the process
