DUCTCO, LLC is seeking an entry-level Engineer to join their team in Bloomfield, CT.

Ductco is an established HVAC contractor that specializes in the design, fabrication, and installation of air moving systems.

Job Summary:

This position offers a chance to gain both HVAC construction and manufacturing experience. The engineer supports ductwork fabrication and installation for commercial construction projects. A successful candidate will have opportunities to gain more responsibility in all areas of the business, and have a direct impact on workplace safety, product quality, and on-time project completion.

A successful candidate must be capable of clear and concise verbal and written communication. Candidates must be able to work in a range of environments, some independent, some collaborative, others with close supervision. Finally, candidates must possess strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn.

Job Responsibilities:

• Creating (drafting) shop drawings
• Interpreting drawings and designs, developing fabrication methods, and issuing shop orders
• Performing structural analysis
• Estimating and proposals: including soliciting subcontractors and vendors for pricing
• Managing and performing fabrication equipment maintenance
• Keeping accurate records: documenting processes and methods

Education and Experience:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related program
• HVAC experience or concentration a plus
• Manufacturing, or machine operation experience preferred

Skills and Abilities:

• AutoCAD or related drafting software
• Machine trouble-shooting and repair
• Organized, with a strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• System-level problem-solving ability
• PC skills, especially Excel
