Mechanical Designer

We are looking for a passionate Mechanical Designer to join our team!

About the Role

As the Mechanical Designer, you will perform advanced level engineering design, detail and problem solving. Responsibilities will include to recognize, define, and develop new concepts as well as the following:

• Apply process knowledge to influence design
• Model Assemblies for machine segments or modules meeting specifications
• Provide designs that are manufacturable and meet safety standards
• Present or participate in review of designs
• Complete assigned work within established schedule
• Originate design documentation with minimal errors including part and assembly drawings, Bill of Materials, Specification sheets, Modification kits, and project files.
• Understand roles of other functions and provide project support as appropriate. .
• Abide by corporate policies and quality system procedures.
• Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner and contribute to safety and well-being of self and others.
• Assume responsibility for designs valued up to $125,000.
• Train less experienced personnel on established methods and facilitate transfer of technical knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills Required

The ideal candidate will possess a competency in design and use of engineering system tools, and exhibit willingness and ability to increase knowledge through continuous education. Education Required

2-year Technical degree or equivalent

6 years of related experience preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility's production floor or customer's production environment.

Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer's facilities. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
