Position Summary
The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting and repairing vehicles and machinery, along with determining the causes of failure and implements strategies/corrective measures to ensure failures do not reoccur. This position oversees maintenance inspections, monitors inventory, assembles mechanical components, and performs repairs. The individual who joins the team is responsible for ensuring company equipment is running at optimal performance.
Duties and Responsibilities Include
Essential Duties:
- Conducts regular maintenance on machinery, systems, vehicles
- Operates, inspects, troubleshoots, performs diagnostics, and identifies defects/malfunctions
- Repairs or overhauls mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
- Rotates and balances tires, maintains oil, filters, fluids, lubricates parts, and inspects/replaces hoses and belts
- Contains costs through the use of warranty claims and evaluates service and parts options
- Maintains work logs, repairs, and maintenance records in compliance with regulations
- Duties and responsibilities may change with or without notice
What You'll Bring to the Team
- A minimum of at least two (2) or more years of heavy equipment mechanic experience
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems
- Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements
- Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record per Company policy
- Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities
- Attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to problem solve
- Meet all physical requirements of the position
- Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations
- 18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
