Meat Cutter 1st and 2nd Shift Job at Great Plains Beef
DESCRIPTION:
Great Plains Beef is looking for a dependable and hardworking full-time Meat Cutter. This position will be focused on the production of steaks. Responsibilities will include portioning and trimming sub-primal pieces into steaks. This role will assist with packaging and labeling.
Prior meat cutting experience is helpful, but we are willing to train someone that is eager to learn. The Meat Cutter will work within a team environment to make sure all safety and quality standards are attained. Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors are a must. Strong attention to details. Assume other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
The Meat Cutter will work closely with co-workers and management in the Cutting Room. The production line for cutting, packaging, and labeling includes the following duties:
- Cut, Trim, and weigh steaks, meats, etc.
- Packaging and label various cuts and products
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation
- Follow safety guidelines
Qualifications:
- Able to work with computers, including inventory software, database and other systems
- Good organizational skills, time management, and mathematical skills
- Able to lift 50lbs frequently
- Able to lift over 75 pounds occasionally
- Able to work in refrigerated and freezer units for extended periods of time
- Hard working
- Dependable and reliable
- Detail oriented
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Flexible and open to change
- Able to work independently and communicate within a team environment
- Able to learn quickly, embrace responsibility and accept accountability
Monday-Friday
First shift: 6:30am to 3:00pm
Second Shift: 11:30am to 8:00pm
