Mile Bluff Medical Center is offering paid tuition and job placement for applicants who apply to be enrolled in our Certified Nursing Assistant training program with Western Technical College.

Participants who complete the WTC Nursing Assistant program and pass the Nursing Assistant Registry Exam will be placed in a CNA position at Mile Bluff Medical Center. Tuition and course fees will be covered by Mile Bluff Medical Center in return for a 2-year commitment after certification is received. Position placement is based off availability and current openings.

Students will be paid to attend in-person training and clinicals.

Program Details:

Class Dates: January 18 - March 1, 2023

Class Times: 5:00pm - 9:30pm (clinical times are subject to change)

Meeting Days: Mon, Wed, Thu

**Attendance is mandatory for all scheduled class times**

**Incompletion of the course, testing, or 2-year commitment will result in repayment for the tuition and program fees**

Clinical Location: Crest View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center - New Lisbon, WI

Position Responsibilities:

Certified Nursing Assistants in the Nursing Homes are responsible for performing nursing procedures and patient/resident care tasks.

• Provides for patient's/resident's personal hygiene: baths, backrubs, cleans/trims nails, showers, etc.
• Provides for activities of daily living: assists with meals and feeds patients; ambulates, turns, and positions patients/residents; provides fresh water and nourishment between meals.
• Performs I&O if needed; checks vital signs and weight; specimen collection, and post-mortem care.
• Provides for comfort needs of patients/residents.
• Works effectively as a team member in the delivery of care and assists in the orientation of new employees.
• Utilizes resources and materials in an efficient and safe manner.
• Maintains a safe and attractive environment for patients/residents and co-workers; transports patients/residents and equipment as appropriate.
• Promptly answers patients'/resident's call lights and requests.
• Reports observations of a patient/residents to the nurse caring for the patient/residents to ensure professional assessment.

Certified Nursing Assistants in Acute Care are responsible for, performing nursing care functions for neonatal through geriatric patient populations in the hospital under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.

• Provides for patient's personal hygiene: gives bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves, and assists with showers.
• Provides for activities of daily living: assists with meals and feeds patients; ambulates, turns, and positions patients; provides fresh water and nourishment between meals.
• Administers ice packs, heat treatments, sitz baths, and applies restraints under direction of RN.
• Performs I&O; checks vital signs and weight; performs finger stick glucose testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care.
• Provides for comfort needs of patients.
• Works effectively as a team member in the delivery of care and assists in the orientation of new employees.
• Utilizes resources and materials in an efficient and safe manner.
• Maintains a safe and attractive environment for patients and co-workers; transports patients and equipment as appropriate.
• Promptly answers patients' call lights and requests.
• Reports observations of a patient to the nurse caring for the patient to ensure professional assessment.
