JOST INTERNATIONAL IS HIRING A MATERIALS PLANNER FOR A POSITION IN GRAND HAVEN, MICHIGAN

MATERIALS PLANNER INTRODUCTION:
This position reports to the Purchasing Manager. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.
The Material Planner will analyze MRP requirements; schedule and plan raw materials to support production to meet customer requirements; create and maintain JOST International ERP support processes; assist in the development of raw material planning forecast and forecast and manage assigned commodities.
MATERIALS PLANNER AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in daily management of the inventory transaction error mailbox.
- Assists with forecasting activities at the raw material component level utilizing SAP forecasting transaction codes in conjunction with budget and Sales forecasting supplied by management.
- Coordinate with sales, engineering, and production to expedite new part setup, expedited orders, and supplier lead-time.
- Materials planning and all tasks and responsibilities related to accurate and timely materials requirements.
- Monitors SAP MRP controller mailboxes for assigned commodities.
- Creates, Maintains and Issues Schedule Agreements, Schedule Agreement releases, Purchase Orders, PIR’s, Source List, etc. in SAP to properly execute accurate and on-time material planning
- Coordinates, communicates, manages supplier requirements with suppliers of assigned commodities.
- Assists in SAP material master maintenance for assigned commodities and/or assist the Purchasing Manager in;

- Min/Max requirements
- Planned Delivery Times
- MRP Controller/Purchasing Group(s)
- Correct weights, lot sizes, etc.
- Assists with supplier scorecards. (Quality and Purchasing direction).
- Create/Report daily production schedules and monitor with supervisors for material availability to support schedule. Reviews forecast and customer demand to maintain and report monthly production forecast.
- Daily cycle counting, if needed.
- Management of overbuild inventory for LG assembly assigned commodities.
- Participate in daily production meeting and daily scheduling meetings.
- Supplier contract/quote administration as assigned.
- Plans and assists JOST year-end inventory.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
MATERIALS PLANNER REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years business experience in a production facility.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent prior work history and experience in materials planning.
- APICS and/or ISM Membership preferred, but not required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 with an advanced understanding of Excel.
- Experience with SAP, with an emphasis on MM desired.
- Must possess excellent organization, written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of relational databases and how to query data.
- Highly detailed aptitude with critical thinking and reasoning and the ability to follow tasks with a self-driven propensity to succeed.
- Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a highly effective team.
- Travel is up to/less than 15%, and is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area travel may be expected.
- This position will work in both an office setting (90%) and on the production floor (10%), and at times be required to work from home as dictated by management.
- Ability to gain knowledge of company products, and comply with company quality, environmental and safety policies and procedures and understand and adhere to the JOST International Basic Processes.
MATERIALS PLANNER
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires frequent sitting with occasional standing, kneeling, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and lifting. Will lift or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally may need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and infrequently may need to lift and/or move up to 51 pounds with or without assistance.
- Safe and correct operation of assigned IT hardware.
- Must be able to use proper handling techniques to prevent damage to parts and finished goods and in order to prevent injury to associates.
- May need to grasp small parts with fingers and should exhibit good finger dexterity and hand and eye coordination.
