Webasto is seeking highly motivated candidates that take pride in their work and display an aptitude for teamwork as a Material Handler at our brand-new manufacturing facility in Plymouth, MI. In this role you will be responsible for the movement of materials to the proper areas using various types of equipment, such as forklifts, tuggers, and pallet jacks.
We have openings on our A, B and C Crews!
Compensation
$18.75 per hour (+shift differential for B and C Crews)
$1.00 per hour shift differential for B Crew
$3.00 per hour shift differential for C Crew
What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
- Physical material movements (storage, relocation, removal, scrapping) using a forklift, tugger or other material movement tools.
- Unloading of trucks and delivering goods to the dedicated area
- Loading of trucks with goods, returnable containers, etc.
- Bringing materials from supermarket to production line
- Withdrawing empty containers from the production line and removing labels
- Transporting empty containers to the dedicated area
- Removing packaging and industrial waste from supermarket and production line
- Quality inspection of obvious defects in goods and packaging
- Verification of conformity with the packaging specifications
- Support cycle counting initiatives
- Escalation of any detected concerns and problems (Quality and Safety) in line with escalation procedures
- Performing workstation 5S activities in line with standard operating procedures
- Involvement in continuous improvement process
When you will work
A Crew
- Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (+required daily OT and/or OT on Friday, Saturday or Sunday)
B Crew
- Additional $1.00 per hour shift differential
- Tuesday - Friday, 6:00 pm - 4:30 am (+required daily OT and/or OT on Saturday, Sunday or Monday)
C Crew
- Additional $3.00 per hour shift differential
- Friday and Saturday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (+required daily OT and/or OT on off days); AND
- Sunday and Monday, 6:00 pm - 4:30 am (+required daily OT and/or OT on off days)
The minimum requirements you will need
- Results-oriented team player, excellent attendance, high energy level and good attention to detail
- Must be able to work required hours
- Demonstrates creativity, initiative, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to be cross trained on various processes, machines and products
Our preferred requirements
- Previous experience operating a forklift preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English and correspondence such as safety rules and operating instructions preferred, but not required
