Receive, store and issue parts to production

Education:

High school diploma or GED

Certifications:

• Forklift

Minimum Qualifications

• Forklift Certification (If not certified, must be able to achieve certification within 30 days)
• Attention to detail

• Oracle experience
• Inventory experience
• Understanding of Warehouse operations

Introductory Level: Primary focus is learning the process

• Successful completion of introductory period (6 months)

  • Basic understanding, support and commitment to the team and continuous improvement
  • Resolves the problems at the lowest level possible
  • Identifies possible solutions when communicating problems

• Understands the importance of safety, quality, delivery and cost
• Responsive to internal and external customer needs

Essential Functions (Maximum Timeframe 6 months)

• Able to navigate in Oracle with computer and scanner, as required
• Able to prepare/pull material for delivery to assembly areas
• Able to understand what RIP is and it’s locations, as well as deliver parts to correct sites
• Able to learn the warehouse locater system
• Able to operate a forklift within the stockroom and assembly lines
• Able to understand cycle-count procedures and address discrepancies
• Able to understand and interpret production schedules, sequence sheets and WIP tickets
• Able to understand impact position has on plant metrics (MPS, OTD, inventory levels, potential overtime)
• Start to develop expertise in the following work instructions, as required:
• Cycle Count for Receiving / Stores
• Incoming freight

Receiving Dock:

• Incoming process for receipt traveler
• SOMI process for Receiving / Stores
• Scrap segregation and loading
• Raw material unloading and storage

Issuing/Putting Away Parts:

• Kanban process for move order traveler
• De-Trashing operation
• Yellow card proces

Able to finish training and perform designated path:

• Material Handler
• Stores
• Receiving

Qualified Level: Primary focus is demonstrating process knowledge and contributing to overall process improvements

Essential Functions (Maximum Timeframe 18 months)

• Develop working knowledge of area process (receiving, stores and delivery) and complete duties as assigned
• Able to perform and understand all functions listed above without supervision
• Able to cycle-count accurately
• Able to train others in all duties for assigned path/responsibility
• Able to demonstrate continuous improvement accomplishments for safety
