JOB SUMMARY PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Supervisor - Inventory supports operation of all material services functions.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience
EXPERIENCE AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be willing to work overtime and irregular hours as required.
  • Must have knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable as defined by El Paso Electric Company’s insurance carrier.
  • Ability to express oneself, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to engage in Medium physical work including lifting (of at least 50 lbs. Maximum), walking or standing for an extended period of time on concrete and uneven surfaces, and climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Must maintain a good working relationship with all team members, as well as internal and external clients.
  • Must be able to load or unload trucks or move material utilizing two-wheel hand truck, hydraulic dolly, or standup/sit down forklift.
  • Must be able to use hand tools as required. (i.e., hammer, screwdriver, drill, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of computer with keyboard and/or mouse.
  • Ability to attain a forklift operator’s license within 30 days.
  • Must Pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE).
  • Must possess a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The following essential job functions are accomplished by utilizing a personal computer with keyboard and/or mouse, 10-key calculator, photocopy machine, facsimile machine, and other related equipment.

  • Accurately maintains warehouse records including purchase orders, material receipts bills of lading, ARM records, issues, receipts and stock slips and updates Oracle inventory system as required.
  • Operates company vehicles, including flatbeds, trailers, and piggy-back forklift trucks, to load and deliver material to various reporting locations and /or job sites.
  • Identifies, as required, all receipts prior to placement in inventory.
  • Receives and stages or distributes non stock material and contacts end user as required.
  • Issues and receives inventory material reporting all damaged or questionable material to supervisor or lead person.
  • Performs regularly scheduled inventory counts and recounts as required.
  • Ships materials as required.
  • Reviews min/max reports and reports stock outs for reordering purposes as required.
  • Uses reel-o-matic to measure various cable requirements and cuts cable to specified length.
  • Assembles required racks or other storage items for warehousing of materials.
  • Identifies scrap material and returns all salvageable material back into inventory.
  • Maintains wire reels in racks and load onto trucks as required.
  • Operates forklift to load and unload material as required.
  • Operates forklift in safe manner. Adheres to all EPE safety practices and procedures.
  • Has some knowledge of hazardous material and material safety data book.
  • Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations to include employment, safety and environmental standards and regulations

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
The employee is subject to both outside and inside environmental conditions. The employee is also subject to noise, where the employee has to shout in order to be heard. In addition, the employee is subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as a proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high places, and exposure to high heat, extreme cold and/or to chemicals. The employee is also subject to oils, to include skin exposure.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time on concrete or uneven surfaces.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
  • Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
  • Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities in which detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.
  • Hearing: Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
  • Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Visual acuity: Color, depth perception and field of vision to include measurement devices for close inspection and analysis.
