Atlas Copco Comptec LLC, located in Voorheesville, NY, is seeking a Material Handler. The primary objectives of this position include:


This position is responsible for the receiving, shipping, and handling of all material. It includes the recording, tracking and control of all material through the inventory management system.

  • Receiving and handling of all inbound and outbound materials, including the preparation, filing and distribution of all appropriate documentation in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Receiving;
    • Identification of materials upon receipt without packing lists supplied with shipment
    • Determine level of resistance to oxidation for all incoming materials and expected duration of preservation measures provided by vendors for items to be stored outside
    • Safety offload (indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions) and transport large items without COG information or pick plan provided
    • Understanding of subcontractor flow process in order to effectively receive subcontracted POs to ensure proper material consumptions.
    • Upon physical receipt at dock, determine which PO lines were previously received in SAP for POC vs items to receive in SAP
  • Shipping;
    • Safely tarp and load prime units on trucks for shipment
    • Review and identify all items not flagged to ship with prime orders and communicate to determine if shipment is needed
  • Handling;
    • Ability to operate all PIT equipment and safety load / unload all materials up to 50,000lbs inside or out in all weather conditions.
    • Evaluate completed assemblies from core for aftermarket to determine if truly complete or if additional work and / or painting is required.
  • Organizing all material to ensure effective and efficient incoming and outgoing flow of material,
    • Check all palletized materials upon receipt, compare to start of assembly dates and determine if materials should be transported to and stored in offsite warehouse, perform transport to offsite warehouse.
    • Review condition of all pallets containing material and repalletize as needed
  • Responsible for ensuring material is correctly identified and placed in its proper location designated in the automated inventory storage system and /or the storage racks.
  • Aid production-scheduling personnel by ensuring that incoming material and material accumulated from stock inventory is complete, properly issued and delivered to the point-of-use.
  • Preparation and shipment of all materials, including the compressors units to customers utilizing approved shipping document procedures.
    • For all aftermarket orders;
    • Maintain a list of all open sales orders
    • Monitor all line items of every sales order and pick to ship when complete and due in current month
    • Monitor status of every WO for each SO and pick to production when all materials available
  • Coordinate and manage the material inventory levels through the Kan-ban system (~3,400 items) in all areas necessary to ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Responsible for material receiving and receiver documentation reconciliation with the purchase order and/or stockroom location.
  • Responsible for the accumulation of all parts and components onto specified job carts, including the maintenance of a current “shortage list” for all material on the production floor and the accumulation area.
  • Knowledge and ability to determine work order requirements vs network driven requirements to ensure all required materials are delivered to assembly
  • Interface with other functions (i.e., Production. Service, Planning, Purchasing) to ensure timely and accurate distribution of production inventory.
  • To comply with Safety Rules, Regulations and OSHA Requirements

What we expect of you?


  • High school graduate (or equivalent).
  • At least one year of related stockroom experience including powered industrial trucks.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle materials up to 50lbs.
  • Knowledge of Computerized Inventory System with ability to learn any new equipment introduced to carry out the functions of the department.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to team with other ACC members in a cooperative and friendly manner
  • Creative problem solver.
