Material Coordinator Job at Daifuku
Monitor and Maintain inventory system. Oversee receipt and dispatching of material in warehouse. Perform cycle counts and adjustments as required. Work with Plant Supervision to ensure material is on hand and inventory levels accurate. Follow up on work in process to ensure conformation of materials procedures. Assists with shipment of orders as required. Backup for Merchandise Shipping as required. Work with and direct Receiving efforts to ensure accurate inventory. Knowledge of SAP preferred but will train.
The company is currently seeking an experienced Materials Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and Plan production batch sizes and workflow for projects
- Schedule merchandise orders. Perform lookups to see if parts are in and if assembly is required, follow up and ensure delivery to customer.
- Collects and analyzes data on current orders, production levels, and sales forecast to estimate future demand of materials and production.
- Collects and analyzes data on production capacity to improve manufacturing schedules.
- Coordinates the transfer of raw materials, parts and finished products between various production areas.
- Assist as needed with CCIT sheet preparation and updates
- Obtain request for quotes both electronically and verbally
- Enter merchandise order documentation to ensure timely shipping of customer orders
- Run shortage lists and open order status
- Verify shortages. Check with the shop to see if they may have materials needed according to schedule
- Provide support for Engineering and Shop personnel and Project Management
- Communicate between other departments as required
- Coordinate with shop to produce material in a cost efficient and effective manner
- Expedite work orders for special projects
- Coordinate other departments to obtain product information
- Retrieve information and literature on new products
- Dealing with issues on parts in production which are defective
- Assist with logistics scheduling and documentation management as needed
- Perform other work-related duties as required
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or 2 - 5 years experience in a design to order manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and negotiation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office products
- Experience with SAP software a plus
