Material Control Coordinator (NASA Balloon Program) Job at Peraton
Responsibilities:
Our staff are located at the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility (CSBF) in Palestine, TX where we design, analyze, build and assembly the support hardware and balloon gondola payloads for the missions. We launch the balloons from locations within the United States (Texas, and New Mexico) and around the world including Antarctica, Sweden, New Zealand, and Australia. Our engineers, meteorologists, and technician staff support the launches and balloon and payload recoveries in the US and many worldwide locations. Peraton’s NASA Balloon Operations Contract (NBOC) program is seeking a Material Control Coordinator to join our team in Palestine, Texas.
Material Control Coordinator receives material to multiple stockrooms, maintains, inventories, and issues parts, supplies, and end items. Performs inventories, adjustments, and preservation of customer property. Specific tasks include:
- Performs functions such as binning, conducting inventories, pulling parts for issue, and issuing piece parts, supplies, and end items.
- Maintains all stockroom parts and end items at levels appropriate to supply all technician requirements, issues parts in a timely fashion upon request, restocks bins as spares are received, and maintains inventory records and data on all stocked items, and equipment
- Duties include locating items as received in proper storage locations, maintaining stocks on hand, participating in cyclic and special inventories as required, re-warehousing, receiving requirements and pulling correct items from stock for issue.
- Maintains records for parts, materials, and equipment. Updates computers with receipt information
Required Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Three to 5 years of experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Physical activity may include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motion
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts

Salary Range: Salary Minimum: $30,000 Salary Mid: $60,000 Salary Maximum: $75,000 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
