The MAT Employment Specialist is accountable for providing recovery-oriented employment services, administering vocational assessments, developing Individualized Recovery-Oriented Vocational Plans, incorporating the input of individuals served and their natural supports, and assisting individuals with learning and implementing job readiness skills for individuals engaged in McCall’s Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs. The Employment Specialist links individuals with local employers, facilitates groups, and offers guidance and support to individuals to aid them in securing and retaining meaningful employment. This position will be primarily located in Waterbury but may serve individuals in our other outpatient clinics as well, including Danbury and Torrington.

Non-Exempt/Fulltime position – 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday

Qualifications

*Valid CT Driver’s License (Required)

*Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field (candidates with an associate degree plus a minimum of 3 years’ experience will be considered). A person with lived experience is preferred. Minimum of one year experience working in substance abuse and/or mental health field is preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and engage clients by identifying and evaluating individual strengths, areas for development, qualifications, employment history, problems, and needs for the development of an individualized employment plan.
• Function as part of the clinical treatment team and participate in team meetings.
• Ensures documentation and reporting is completed and submitted to meet agency, grant and contractual stipulations within designated timeframes; maintains MAT spreadsheet and shares biweekly with outpatient team.
