Spa Serein at Silver Cloud Tacoma at Ruston Waterfront is looking for enthusiastic massage therapists interested in a long-term career in their new flagship spa.

A massage therapist at Spa Serein at Silver Cloud Tacoma at Ruston Waterfront will have an in-depth knowledge of skin along with at least three years of hands-on experience. The therapist will be required to perform facial and waxing services.

A massage therapist at Spa Serein at Silver Cloud Tacoma at Ruston Waterfront will have an in-depth knowledge of several massage modalities along with at least three years of hands-on experience. The therapist will be required to massage and body scrubs.

The massage therapist will be paid an hourly rate along with a commission per service and when not performing services, will assist with some tasks within the facility. The technician will also receive gratuities. Commissions on retail sales will also be paid.

Spa Serein will offer as much scheduling flexibility as possible; however, the facility will be open most days of the years with evening and weekend hours. Flexibility is important to the success of the facility.

The therapist should be able to perform Swedish and Deep Tissue modalities well, along with the openness to learn and perform other massage modalities. Please make us aware of all modalities you are qualified to perform along with any additional certifications.

General Responsibilities

• Perform multiple types of massages modalities and body treatments.
• Maintain detailed records in the spa software of massages, treatments, and therapies performed on each spa guest.
• Explain massages, treatments, and therapies to guests and provide suitable recommendations as needed.
• Carefully reviews the intake for contraindications. Enquire about guests' medical conditions and allergies before providing spa services.
• Communicate with guests during massages to adjust massage techniques as required.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, changing treatment room sheets, replenish supplies and all other tasks related to the performance of services and the maintenance of and sterilizing all instruments and equipment before and after each use.
• Follow all COVID 19 related sterilization and sanitation requirements prior to each treatment in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Ensure that the treatment room is adequately stocked with spa supplies and report shortages to the Spa Manager.
• Follow all policies and procedures outlined by Spa Serein management.

Job Requirements

• Washington State California Massage Therapist License
• At least three years hands-on massage therapy experience in a day spa or resort spa
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology and different massage types
• The ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Patience, professionalism and respect for Spa guests
• Exceptional customer service skills
