Definition of Class
This position develops and executes marketing plans and promotions for initiatives, projects, and activities. The incumbent develops and implements marketing strategies; performs market research to enhance effectiveness of programs and activities; advises department about communication tools, messages, and approaches to marketing initiatives; and manages the production and distribution of marketing materials.
This position is eligible to be hybrid telework.
Examples of Work Performed
- Creates marketing plans and promotions for initiatives, projects, and activities.
- Executes goals and strategies identified in strategic planning as they pertain to recruitment, promotion, communication, and outreach.
- Develops relationships with vendors as necessary to develop and implement the department’s marketing plan.
- Advises department about communication tools, messages, and approaches to marketing initiatives.
- Provides marketing advice and direction to assist in promoting programs and events.
- Conducts market research and develops strategies to enhance effectiveness of programs and activities.
- Serves as the liaison between the department and various organizations, groups, or vendors.
- Builds relationships with clients to encourage growth and effectiveness of programs and activities.
- Manages the production and distribution of marketing materials for the department.
- Stays abreast of current projects and publications, as necessary, to produce appropriate marketing materials.
- Proofs and edits deliverables according to established guidelines.
- Generates brochures, posters, invitations, programs and other forms of advertising to promote the organization and its services.
- Defines and develops measurement models to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
- Tracks metrics and prepares reports for leadership.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned, or required.

Minimum Education/Experience
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Business or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
AND
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience related to the above described duties.
Substitution Statement:
Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
