Scrap Recovery Crew Member

The primary purpose of this position is to recover the highest value from mis-manufactured, defective, or returned material which can be converted into saleable product that will move in a reasonable timeframe. This position is responsible for providing feedback to the production environment to reduce generation of scrap.

Job Responsibilities

• Understand product configurations and features of all products
• Identify quality defects in product
• Setup machines to safely recover material
• Read specification sheets
• Use putty and epoxy to repair defects
• Use measuring tape and caliper
• Check for quality
• Provide feedback to Quality Control, Inventory Control, Production Control, and Manufacturing environment to reduce the scrap being generated
• Exercise excellent housekeeping and organization habits
• Assist with preventative maintenance on equipment
• Work with maintenance to resolve equipment problems
• Observe all safety rules and regulations

Qualifications

• Prior manufacturing experience, preferred
• Diploma or GED, required
• Experience using tape measure and caliper
• Read a tape measure to 1/32nd as well as other precision measuring instruments
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Ability to lift 35lbs

Working Conditions

• Exposed to normal factory environment (wood dust) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent
• Must be able to withstand heat more than 95 degrees
