Position Summary:

Tyson Foods has one of the largest and most robust protein portfolios in the food industry across both retail and food service, inclusive of Tyson, Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm, Ball Park, Aidells, Original Philly, Steak EZE, Big Az and many more! The Senior Manager, Insights & Strategy serves as a key strategic partner to the cross-functional team and oversees development and application of consumer and business insights.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and finds opportunities to bring new thought and creativity to the processes. You will provide insights leadership for Tyson Foods’ brands and must be comfortable presenting strategic recommendations to key members of your cross-functional team and be influential in sharing consumer-based brand strategy recommendations.

Job Responsibilities:

The Manager of Consumer Insights & Strategy is responsible for leading the consumer or operator learning agenda and ensuring that consumer/operator understanding is at the foundation of all strategy.

Specifically, the Manager will:

  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize consumer learning to tell a cohesive and actionable story with the ability to tailor to specific audiences
  • Execute primary research, and synthesize syndicated sources (Nielsen, NET, Mintel, Hartman Group, Datassential, Technomic, Crest, Supplytrack).
  • Provide Consumer Insight leadership with cross-functional teams, and act as a strategic partner with Marketing, R&D, Culinary, Sales, on-site suppliers, agencies, and consultants.
  • Demonstrate holistic thinking, strategic agility, and leadership with many levels of the organization.
  • Effectively manage the Consumer Insights budget to proactively address both immediate and forward-looking strategic needs.
  • Proactively uncover innovative research methods to enable quicker, consumer-informed decision making.

Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Psychology, Marketing Research or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably on manufacturer-side and with a branded, consumer-packaged-goods company, or combination of supplier-side and manufacturer-side experience. Innovation and Food industry experience a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of marketing strategy and consumer insights fundamentals including primary & secondary consumer research, syndicated research, positioning & communication development, and strategic business analysis. This includes segmentation, need states, concept development/validation, test and learn approaches, creative testing and more.
  • Demonstrated success in leveraging consumer insights to drive business results.
  • Must be able to develop objective point-of-view and feel very comfortable sharing it and be seen as strategic thought leader on team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and storytelling ability
  • Must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Able to demonstrate agility and can pivot focus based on changes in business needs/conditions.
  • Excellent planning and project management skills.
  • Travel ~25% of the time

Pay: From $185,000.00 per year
