The Production Manager- Fabrication is responsible for the overall performance of the department by developing and focusing the organizational resources to continually add value to internal and external customers. The overall scope of the position is short to medium-term planning within a face pace low-volume, high-mix (made-to-order) environment. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Lead, motivate, and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interests and strengths. Empower employees to take responsibility for their careers and performance. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization. Staff and maintain headcount and overtime budget. (50%)
Participant in continuous improvement activities, such as; leading/ sponsoring Rapid Improvement Events, assisting, training, and helping direct reports execute Root cause & Corrective action plans. Also develops plans for the execution of improvement activities for the Value Stream, by utilizing cost-benefit, and effort-impact analysis (25%)
Works closely with the Inventory control team to ensure production plans support customer demands. Working with the inventory control teamof monitors the raw material supply chain and on-hand inventory levels to ensure support of production plans. Align all shifts to overall production plans and changes as it arises. (25%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 3 years related manufacturing experience within in Made to Order/ Engineered to Order production environment required.
- 2 years managing others required.
- 5 years steel fabrication experience: operating or managing steel fabrication processes such as laser cutting, punch press, press brake, MIG welding, powder coating, and product packaging.
- Safety: consistently exemplify the highest of safety standards and monitor others to the same standards.
- Attendance: able to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance.
- Mathematical Reasoning: able to apply basic algebraic and geometric concepts. Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimal equivalents.
- Reading Comprehension: able to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and related correspondence.
- Writing: able to write work procedures and instructions, routine reports, and safety bulletins.
- Technical: working knowledge of Microsoft Office and MRP software such as such as SAP.
- Problem Solving: able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Analysis/Reasoning: able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Speaking: able to effectively communicate in group settings and one-on-one, with all departments and at all levels within the organization.
- Leadership: proven ability to effectively lead by motivating, coaching and mentoring team members. Ability to prioritize work and champion change. Willing to compassionately hold others accountable and to be held accountable.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
This job requires no domestic travel.

Pay
$75700 - $98400/ year
