Overview:
CAES is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Procurement Manager to join our dynamic Supply Chain team and play an integral role in ensuring an uninterrupted flow of material/parts to the shop floor. The candidate will lead a dynamic team of procurement buyers that are responsible for placing purchase orders for all types of materials, parts, components, equipment and commodities for just in time deliveries.

Our Integrated Defense Systems business in San Diego, CA is comprised of talented makers, thinkers and doers who like to solve complex problems for the benefit of the Aerospace/Defense industry. In an ever-changing global supply chain, CAES is looking for forward-thinking supply chain professionals to join the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Reviews Purchase Requisitions and Purchse Orders for FAR, DFAR's compliance and overall value.
  • Develops procurement strategy
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and lead by example.
  • Effectively serve as first point of escalation to resolve pricing and lead time challenges with suppliers.
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies for pricing agreements and Long Term Agreements.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to ensure all internal customers are satisfied.
  • Establish and grow relationships with suppliers.
  • Provide guidance on effective source selections to ensure compliant awards.
  • Utilize metrics and KPIs to effectively evaluate supplier performance.
  • Expedites material to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Performs price analysis as needed.
  • Coordinates with Planning manager to ensure adequate inventories are maintained and kit releases are supported.
  • Ability to present to senior leadership team as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience in purchasing and/or government procurement.
  • 3 Years supervisor/management role in purchasing and/or government procurement.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a US Person under US export laws or eligible for approval for a U.S. Government export license. A US Person includes a US Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, refugee or asylee.
Preferred:
  • Master's Degree and 8 + years' experience in government and/or commercial contracting
  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry
  • SAP experience is strongly preferred
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and MRP systems.
  • Strong understanding of contract terms and conditions, FAR, DFARS, and risk mitigation strategies
Salary Range: $102,000 - $145,000 annually. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well business results.
