As a Manager, Port Adventures Operations you will be responsible for overall day-to-day operations of the Port Adventures & Recreation teams across the Disney fleet and our island destinations. Serve as the main point of contact for our shipboard, island, Incident Contact Points, and shoreside partners to ensure all aspects of the Port Adventures & Recreation operation are executed with excellence in accordance with the Disney Brand. Solve complex tour issues with a focus on successful resolution.
You will report to the Sr. Manager, Port Adventures & Recreation.
Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day leadership for the shipboard and island Port Adventures & Rec teams and shoreside Recreation teams.
Manage shipboard and Island Recreation succession planning.
Partner with Shipboard and Island Recreation in regard to disciplinary matters.
Provide operational support for dry dock, new ships startup, and new destinations.
Partner with HR, Recruitment, and onboard Cruise / Island Directors to lead, hire and staff all shipboard & island Port Adventures & Recreation positions.
Manage all Port Adventures & Recreation shipboard & island staffing needs for rotational scheduling in partnership with the Disney Cruise Line Labor team.
Manage and have direct responsibility for all Port Adventures and Recreation activities offered on all Disney Cruise Line private destinations (Castaway Cay and Lighthouse Point).
Partner with Regional Managers to address all incidents on tour with a focus to resolve issues with the highest priority on Safety & Security for all guests, crew, and vendors.
Collaborate with all necessary shipboard, shoreside (inclusive of Regional Managers), and island partners regarding itinerary changes and executing with the least disruption to guests / operational teams / vendors, tour operators & contractors.
In partnership with the Sr. Mgr. Port Adventures & Recreation share engagement with key industry partners such as the FCCA (Florida Caribbean Cruise Association) Operations Committee, working with Government, Ministries worldwide to support and facilitate improvements in destination, as well as CLIA (Cruise Line International Association) on subjects related to the ports, shore excursions and operations thereof.
Complete and/or participate in all required site inspections and audits in a timely manner as designated by the Company, governing bodies, maritime, and/or other industries.
Partner with Commercial / Port Strategy, Public Relations, Risk Management, Business Systems Management & Experience Integration on initiatives, changes, and maximizing existing Port Adventures products.
Partner with the Product Development team on new & existing product management.
Keep current on industry trends (inside / outside the cruise industry) to continuously improve DCL Port Adventure & Recreation experiences.
Manage all logistical needs for Port Adventures and address any potential barriers for shipboard, shoreside, and island teams.
For areas of responsibility, oversee documentation and updating SMS guidance affecting safety and environmental matters and LOG guidance on other processes.
SMS responsibility for upholding the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System in areas under their control.
Basic Qualifications:
3 to 5+ years of leadership experience in shore excursion, recreation, sales, and/or marketing environments.
3+ years of logistics and operations experience, preferably in the travel industry.
Demonstrated experience working and leading others in a high volume, fast-paced, global hospitality organization.
Demonstrated problem solving prowess and sound decision-making skills in complex environments.
Successful ability to create & maintain effective relationships with key partners, vendors, contractors, and industry organizations.
Experience in sourcing, purchasing, invoicing and related systems.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with proven experience integrating with all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and PowerPoint.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage and spot details for complex projects.
Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities on behalf of the team.
Ability to think critically or be able to analyze situations or statements and determine their validity.
Ability to travel a minimum of 25% of the year (as driven by business needs) and work outside of business hours.

Fluency in any additional language(s) other than English
Lifeguard Certified & Aquatics Certified
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality, tourism, business, sales, marketing or equivalent experience
