What we’re looking for in you

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree or Pharm D from a ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Three-Five (3-5) years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience.
• Licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Minnesota

The skills/experience you bring as a Manager Outpatient Pharmacy

Required:

• Knowledge of drug therapeutics, stability, compatibility, and storage
• Knowledge of basics of fiscal management of an outpatient pharmacy operation
• Knowledge of work schedule management
• Knowledge of regulations affecting pharmaceutical services for outpatients
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Skill in working with professional and non-professional employees
• Skill in computers and their applications
• Knowledge of outpatient pharmacy computer operating systems
• Knowledge of automation systems for outpatient pharmacy
• Knowledge of policies and procedures of outpatient services
• Ability to develop goals/objectives for the department.
• Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to obtain cooperation between pharmacy and nursing
• Ability to interpret data and generate reports
• Ability to supervise and direct the work of subordinates
• Competency with the hospital’s information system.
• Knowledge of purchasing/dispensing requirements.

Preferred:

• 2-5 years in a supervisory pharmacist position preferred.

The purpose of the Manager Outpatient Pharmacy role

As a Manager of Outpatient Pharmacy you will provide development, supervision and management of outpatient pharmacy services to patients throughout the hospital, hospice patients, employees and others seeking pharmaceutical care. Works directly with the Inpatient Pharmacy Manager, Director of Pharmacy, outpatient pharmacy staff, nursing staff and other medical departments to provide the highest degree of pharmacy services to patients. Develops and maintains department operations including policies and procedures to ensure areas meet all legal, accreditation and certifications necessary.
